Scripted Art In Second Life
What is script art? Scripted artwork includes moving elements that enhance the art and viewing pleasure. The movement in this type of artwork is provided by the hidden art of the script, and by the insertion of these scripts into objects so that we can interact, within our world, with other avatars, objects and, in this case , animate the artwork so that it has moving elements. the most common scene, inspiring, mesmerizing and makes the viewer go hmm, how did they do that?
Scripted art that is considered good to collect, hang in your home, or give to your friends is currently scarce in Second Life. The key is to develop low-latency, low-thin artwork that any Second Life resident can purchase to enhance the beauty of their homes.
For the purposes of this article, I will only discuss the three works of art currently on display at the Elven Museum of Enchantment. “Lunar month” is a texture of 24 phases of the lunar cycle that starts with a thumbnail and progresses to the full moon and back to the outline. The script that makes this artwork was a very difficult set of instructions to put together to make this artwork move. The end results are incredibly calm and beautiful.
“Houston” is a cityscape and the first Mr. Montague to see if scripted artwork was possible. In the foreground is the skyline of the city of Houston, USA, with its impressive skyscrapers and buildings that make up downtown Houston. Behind the Houston skyline are dark, angry clouds blowing a storm over the city, highlighted by lightning strikes on the ground that dazzle the viewer with the ferocious nature of this storm.
“Sunset Sailing” is a calm bright orange sun setting on an ocean horizon, a silhouetted sailboat in the foreground sailing through the water, preparing for a night of calm sailing. the. This piece is an exclusive limited edition series of 20 pieces that, once sold, will no longer be available for purchase except by a “Sunset Sailing” owner. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity in both card and texture form, so tracing the province to the Art Gallery of Elven Enchantment is an easy thing to do. All pieces are transferable, so you can buy the artwork as a gift for your friends, sweethearts or a business partner, a wonderful way to say “Thank you”. You can also resize the artwork without damaging the integrity of the moving elements or distorting the image. All these artworks are for art lovers who wish to have a beautiful piece of moving art with low slim and low lag without taking up much space and will fit perfectly on any wall.
Elven Enchantment Museum and Art Gallery is honored to be the exclusive sponsors of the Digital Knight Scripted Art Studio and Grand Opening on October 1st from 5-8pm, Second Life Time (SLT aka Pacific Standard Time) . Mr. Montague will be on hand to answer your questions about his newest works and oversee a contest for a free piece of art called “Tall Ship.” The contest will run until 7:30 p.m., when the first person to correctly identify the items in “Tall Ship” will win a copy of “Tall Ship.”
Scripting is a Second Life art, and in this curator’s opinion, an art that goes unnoticed and, for the most part, taken for granted in our world. I have personally taken several screenwriting lessons and can appreciate some of the complexities involved in creating a screenplay from scratch. The language that makes up the artistic form of writing has its basis in algebra and I’m sure other more advanced mathematics. You need to be able to correctly identify the commands and make those commands do something so that the end result is something usable in Second Life. If you’re like me and hate math more advanced than adding up a spreadsheet, the scripts will offer intricacies that are truly mind-boggling. My conclusion was to leave the script to the unknown talents of Second Life and enjoy what they present to us in our world.
