From the age of 15 I started building houses. My construction job helped me get through high school and eventually college graduation. Looking back on my construction of time, I am grateful for two things. The first is that the building allowed me to earn enough money to pay my expenses. The second and most important thing construction taught me was that I didn’t like the idea of working harder to make more money.
I know that sounds a little crazy to many of you. You might be thinking, “Of course you have to work harder to make more money,” but I’d have to disagree. When I built houses, to earn more money, I had to work more hours. For me, this way of life was not acceptable. My construction job quickly helped me realize that I needed to find a way to make more money with less effort. That’s when I started thinking about life. It didn’t take much research to realize that everyone becomes good at something. Some people are good at being victims in life. Some people are good at making excuses for why their lives aren’t fulfilling. Other people eventually get good at flipping burgers and taking orders. Each of us has a choice in what we choose to do with our time. Why don’t you start making your choices differently? I was learning how to build houses, the problem was that building houses only led to building more houses. I would have been trading time for money for the rest of my life.
Instead of building houses, I chose to start wholesaling real estate. Wholesaling real estate has allowed me to earn an hourly wage from $10 an hour, all the way up to $1000 an hour. Last week I made a deal where I put in 8 hours of total work. I made $16,000 on this deal, if you’re bad at math that’s $2,000 an hour. I have completed many more offers similar to this one. The good thing about wholesaling real estate is that you don’t need cash or credit to get started. Either of you could make the same offers, regardless of your current position in life. From this moment, start asking yourself the difficult question “Am I learning to make money or am I learning to trade time for money?”, the answer to this question will put you on the right path to wealth.
