I Am Loved

When I was still a freshman, a peer counselor asked our class to describe us. When she started listing our answers on the board, I said out loud, I’m loved! She looked back at me, “Are you love?” No! I answered – I said emphatically… I AM LOVE!! Truly I am beloved! I’m surrounded by people who love me (well not everyone I guess, but I sure feel loved by those who really care)!

First of all I feel the love of God. My past blogs are about God’s love and the salvation He offers. There is no greater love than the Love of God and there is no greater evidence of love than the sacrifice of Christ on the cross… There are many people who care but “no one ever cares about me like JESUS” That’s how God loves. that makes a difference. I will forever sing the wonders of God’s love for me in eternity!

My family… with all our “eccentricities” and with all our new words that we like to use although not in any dictionary, with all the “luzvimin” houses we’ve lived in (ma, the xox de la caixa em it’s fresh in my mind :), with our memories of Nanay, with the 6 churches, with my memories of being woken up in the wee hours of the morning by papa just to eat balut, barbecue and ice cream, my mother (the best friend too!) out of cookbooks cooking, with Arion’s early hatred of the camera! With jeruel’s unforgettable journey from rtr to v&g…with our shared joy and sorrow….I love Papa Dee, Mama Nee, Budoy and Putotoy!……and of course my friends! I think I’ve been lucky to have true friends all my life… from Tine (I think we were friends even before we could read and write)! So far with my new found friends in cabantan, what else can I say? i am loved I’M SERIOUS! I AM LOVE! Ginhihigurka ako!

(I think I’m inspired now to blog about my family and friends… but uhmm, no, I’ll do that again… I’ve felt enough love and joy flowing through to share it on through blogs, but I intended to write this blog to the person that I have come to know a lot and gave love unconditionally and accepted for who I am.. And it’s only right because today, August 14, 2008, is our first wedding anniversary!)

It was a seminar at STI (June 3, 2005 to be exact) when I had the pleasure of listening to a man speak bad waray-waray. I was sure it was a Visayan trying to help us understand his online internet business by trying to speak in our dialect… Much to his annoyance, Ate Sarah and I had the time of our lives listening and laughing as he combined words from the two dialects. . He has only tried so hard that we join the business, and we will! It goes without saying, but here I go… After that, I still have the time of my life knowing and laughing, but this time, it’s together with this man.

When I was still in Bible school, I told Weng: I will stay single for the rest of my life! But after I met him…and decided to call him dear uummm…I couldn’t keep my vow. It came like a storm…literally! His world was turned upside down too! We got caught up in the “Romeo and Juliet” series 🙂 Special thanks to our sponsors Suncellular Network, Skype, YM, Globe fix, Supercat, Heaven Star and many more… I want to express my gratitude to all those who helped us, understood us, was with us and prayed for us during those “perilous times” All things work together for good. The experiences made our relationship strong and made us recognize God’s mercy and sovereignty. God’s will prevails and I thank God that His will prevailed! It’s been a year since we got married (thanks to our parents and everyone who supported me) and not for a single day do I praise God for putting him in my life.

Let me count my blessings. He is a saved Christian and a Baptist believer. I’m glad I stayed in the castle and waited for my prince. My cousin used to tell me not to marry a non-believer because when you’re in trouble you can’t get a chance to pray together holding hands. I can’t count on my hands the many answered prayer requests we have from God from our prayers together. I’m glad that someday if we don’t die together and neither of us dies first, one will be ahead waiting for the other in heaven. We will never be apart in eternity.

His faith in God is remarkable. Maybe I’m the one who graduated from Bible School, but when it comes to claiming Bible promises, I found that I was like a child who trusted his father completely. When trouble comes, I panic, but by God’s grace I can see their childlike faith in our Heavenly Father. Among the many things I have learned from him, there is one that predominates: If we only really know who God is and what He can do, we need not ask or worry about our needs, He will surely provide them when we ask. . , we ask big things! Goals that will glorify God mightily! My husband is not without his faults, but every day we live together I believe he is bringing me closer to God.

I have seen how by the grace of God he lived a God fearing life and in some special ways I learned from him what it is to trust, to obey, to submit, to stand for the truth, to learn in silence, to be disciplined, to be content, no. judge others easily, be careful with what I say so as not to be judged and tested, follow the pastor, support missionaries, give, love our families, listen, be a leader, be silent when enemies attack us, value work , be strong when everything fails, give others second chances, forgive and forget, don’t cling to this materialistic world, accept failure, value our marriage and love each other, pray, live life trusting only in God I’m still learning from him every day. He may not be perfect, but I think he practices the principles taught from the many how-to books I’ve read (and to think he doesn’t like to read just read emails and emails and emails! 🙂 I’ve seen how he values young people , he doesn’t want any of them to make mistakes and as some consider him as his “kuya” (a very strict kuya because he even confided in me that he is so strict, he is becoming more and more like Pastor Midiada!: ))I’ve seen his eyes light up when he talks to the rebellious choir members. As the eldest son I have seen how he disciplines his 6 brothers and sisters. I have seen how he honors his parents. I witness how he works until the wee hours of the morning and sleeps only about 3 hours a day to accommodate all his work and support our family. Beloved is worthy of my love, respect and obedience.

On the lighter side, he’s fun and nice to be with. In my laughter, I will scold him: “you are a funny guy!” for his irresistible sense of humor. He works at home and since my only job is to take care of him, we see and hang out every day, but believe me, I still miss him. Like when I wake up in the morning and see him very focused on his work, sometimes I tell him that I miss him during the few hours I slept and didn’t get to see him:) (this may sound corny but it’s true! ) chat and give each other our favorite YM emoticons even when we’re a meter apart! You should hear his endless stories about how he took care of his siblings. When you start talking about your unforgettable baby days, your siblings will start complaining because you won’t stop until you list all the weird things they do as babies. The stories have been told a hundred times but the whole family will still listen and laugh with joy!

As with other relationships, opposites attract! I’m usually talkative and bubbly, while he’s generally stoic and strict. I tend to talk about everything that is on my mind, learn in silence. I easily forget the events of the last year, he doesn’t. As I mentioned earlier, I grew up waking up early in the morning to eat food, while he was forced to go to the market at 2 am even when he was still a child. He forgets to eat, I don’t! He likes meat without bones like squid. I love bangus. He plays well in basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc. but me Maybe the only ball I learned to play with is the jack stone (I was such a loser at sports that my PE teacher told me to hold the bat like I was holding a scepter!) it’s practical, i’m emotional When I start something, I won’t stop until I finish it, I can’t do an article in one go. He is conservative, I am liberated. He likes math and I love to read. I love spaghetti, prefer fried chicken. Vegetables aren’t particularly her favorite food, but I love all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables. I love to match the color with my clothes, he just likes the color blue! Wait, let me stop this… the list is endless. Now note that we also fight like any normal couple does, because we are so different from each other, but our difference complements us, makes us more attracted to each other and keeps me on my knees.

But of course!, we both love music: he plays sax, flute, guitar, I love my accordion and dream of having my own piano one day! He sings tenor and sings alto. We both enjoy teaching children and dealing with young people. We both like puto maya in the morning. We are both stubborn. We love to hear the Word of God. I love it when we hold hands when we listen to the sermon. (I also don’t like it when we don’t sit together in church because I can’t talk to him immediately about my thoughts about the sermon, because when we’re apart I tend to forget what I want to share with him, I like it when I’m able to let him know my ideas… sometimes I’m afraid our pastor will scold us for talking during the sermon:) We both enrolled in Bible School and engineering courses. Oh! This can continue too!

Now after a year she caught up with my eating frenzy and started gaining weight! I learned to keep my mouth shut and be calm in difficult times (but I still lose control sometimes! Huh!) I learned a lot of computer stuff and terms. Little by little he is learning to play the piano fluently. 🙂 We learned to listen to each other even if we don’t speak. We are building memories together that one day there will be more chances to laugh just by exchanging knowing looks when we remember someone or something in the past. I think I’m more obedient to him now, right dear? =)

Let me conclude with Thank you. I thank God for the opportunity to know and love and share my whole life with this kind of person. I thank my beloved for being strong and loving me so much, accepting my mistakes and failures (watching me sleep even when I snore haha) and meeting my emotional needs. We are facing many trials now because not every day is a happy day, but we can overcome it all together by the grace of God! I’m excited for the next few years… Come on… The best years are yet to come!

Happy first wedding anniversary! (thanks for the neon dinner!) -iloveudear- (no spaces in between!)
